Definitely that one, yes. I also came out of grad school hating the question, "Why didn't you do X?". Puts you on the defensive, implies you should have known do to X and have a reason you didn't, and is just generally rude and presumptive. I don't need to pay for an agent to get that experience!

Agreed. That's a good explanation of the unease I've felt chatting with AI-optimistic folks.

This is a frustrating misconception of what doing science is like. All that's needed to break through is someone else to tell you to just "run THIS experiment". Oh that's so easy, thanks, why didn't I think of that?

This is not my first rodeo with retaliatory false accusations. An "activist group" claimed I have a history of domestic abuse in the Dallas Express. I later found that Crowds on Demand had been hired by the publisher of the Dallas Express to create the group.

These records indicate that someone successfully impersonated the FBI in order to get me swatted. I was already aware this had happened but had to wait nearly a year to get the document that proves it. My reports to the Dallas Police Department about this have gone unanswered.

Excellent article, shocking situation. The postscript really ties it all together and hints at the depth of potential deception. Glancing at the draft a few things stand out to me: it's 78 pages (!!) and frequently written in the first person. Is this typical in econ? Either way, red flags all over.
