@jeremycshipp.bsky.social screw Henrick. I can forgive much of his behaviour but leaving the laundry to overflow and then getting huffy when he's called out on it? He's the worst and deserves everything that happened to him.

(I just finished Bedfellow, for context 😅)

Everything by Jeremy Shipp is guaranteed top-tier weird and $1.99 is an absolute steal. They're a master of the kind of logic you get in nightmares, where everything makes perfect sense despite being totally unhinged.
Right now my horror novel BEDFELLOW is on sale for $1.99 on Kindle and Bookshop. I have no idea how long the sale will last.

A signal boost would be a colossal help.

Real, handspun wool! Cost a pretty penny so I won't be doing this often, but my goodness it's a dream to work with.

Game development can be a bit of a slog sometimes, so it's important to appreciate the little moments.

For example, my random character generator just spat out Dump, a character with a "battle moustache".

I'll keep working on it 😂

A pair of necklaces (I know they're on one cord but that's for dramatic effect, I split them up later) for a lovely couple who have been great friends to me this year 🙂

Osmooka aphana, what a wonderful phrase... 😁

A new spider genus from Madagascar!
Researchers led by Matjaž Kuntner (National Institute of Biology, Slovenia) have described Osmooka aphana, discovered in the montane forests of Marojejy National Park.

Tiny doors! I initially made one for my daughter so the tooth fairy can get into her room to get her teeth.

I'd like to make more of these, but I seem to have lost the piece of wood I was cutting them from. Oh well.

Also I promise they're square; the perspective came out weird in the photo.

Did I post this lil guy already? I forget 😅 he's supposed to be a cartoon bat, but honestly he's just kind of his own thing.

He started out as an owl but after the beak snapped off, I decided to see where I could go with him.

Cheaper than the equivalent volume of toilet paper, and still no takers 🤣

One of the things I love about whittling is how little you actually need to spend on tools. A decent knife is important, but my toolkit includes broken metal files, a Stanley knife, a couple of large sewing needles, a ruler from a cracker and a old toothbrush.

In a fight with a powerful shaman he lays a curse upon one of your party members one that emblazons their hand with runes that glow

Time to introduce a new gimmick to the fight, the transferable curse. the idea being that the longer it is on one person (each round) it grows in

I had fun making barrels so now you get more barrels. That's probably enough for now though.

Would anyone like a little video on how to make them? They're straightforward and very forgiving, so they're great for beginners.

I just found a website that promises to use AI to help you craft perfect prompts for other AIs.

I...just speechless.

@franzanth.bsky.social you may already be aware of the existence of this, but I felt like it needed to be brought to your attention if not: store.steampowered.com/app/2053910/...

I got an email from a company I buy basswood from offering me "cyber Monday deals".

If they start trying to sell AI-enabled wood, I'm going to run away to the nearest deep woods and become a hermit.

A very happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it, and a very happy "the Americans are on holiday so it's nice and quiet" day to everyone who celebrates that instead (a very popular holiday in the UK and India, in my experience!) 😁

A very fancy tomte indeed! Presumably this one occupies a position of great importance based on the luxuriousness of their hat.

@chapelorahamm.bsky.social this is the only one I can find of my older scenery pieces. The goblins are apparently sacrificing my d20 on the evil altar 🤣 I don't remember what it did to deserve such a fate but it must have been bad.

I love making tiny scenery. Not sure what it's for (making the amount required for TTRPGs, even just my own game, isn't practical) but it's satisfying nonetheless! The little bottle came out especially nicely 🙂

An experiment: if you cut the crusts off a sandwich (my daughter is not a fan of crusts), try chucking them in a frying pan with a little butter to make a crunchy snack! So far I've only tried it with cheese sandwiches but I suspect jam or honey would make a nice sweet treat.

Can confirm, this book is indeed utterly deranged and also an outrageous, gory delight! Not for the faint of heart but highly recommended, it's both gleefully messy and tightly plotted, with a story that kept me guessing until the end.
My deranged splatterpunk horror book MOONFLOW about a trans shroom dealer getting lost in a haunted forest and running afoul of evil lesbian hippies and their bound fungus god is available for preorder!! Buy it today or look really uncool!

An older piece that I decided deserved some love (and paint). I try not to do any further carving when coming back to older pieces, but I couldn't resist making a few tiny changes 😅

I may have jumped the gun on this as the government are insisting they won't take wedding rings or family heirlooms.

That gets a deeply suspicious raised eyebrow, but at least they considered it. I guess this is a lesson for me about checking my sources properly.
As a kid learning about the Holocaust, I didn't "get" it at first. I knew a lot of people died and that it was really bad, obviously, but it was just another historical event reduced to a bunch of facts.

Then I found a very particular picture in a textbook and suddenly I GOT it.
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

Been busy making stock! I decided it was time to pack away all the beginner carvings and just display those ready for sale. It was a good choice; I still love the old ones, but it was a good confidence boost to see my sellable works lined up.

If you see anything you like, drop me a message! 😉
