I bet if a Democratic president used DHS as a secret police force and started raiding people’s homes and confiscating unregistered firearms, the Supreme Court would magically rediscover the existence of the 4th Amendment.

If you use the flag to hit a police officer while you’re storming the Capitol, though, you get a pardon.

But didn’t Hegseth say that fat people couldn’t be generals anymore???
October 1, 2025 at 1:59 AM
Funny that Hegeseth mentioned Schwarzkopf, because according to the administration’s new “standards” he was too fat to be an effective leader.

Timeline cleanser: cooking is something I enjoy and find to be life giving. The turn to fall weather means it’s a great time for making soups and stews like this beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes we’re having for Sunday dinner this evening. What are you all cooking?

It’s hard to think of someone in the arts who has done more to highlight the dignity and bravery of military service than Tom Hanks. But Col. Bone Spurs must be appeased.

Came across this guy today, so I put in a quarter and gave it a whirl. It gave me a card saying “Your Wish Is Granted.” Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!

Here is how Mencken writes about William Jennings Bryan “in memoriam.”

Decided to channel my Southern roots and made some fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and field peas for Sunday dinner today. Then I passed out for a couple of hours, lol.

When it’s rainy and dreary all day, one must make some French onion soup. And boy this batch did not disappoint! 😙🤌

It was remarkable celebrating July 4th in South Carolina the cradle of secession. After the Civil War, many southerners did not celebrate the 4th since that was the birth of the Union. Tonight’s fireworks showed we have come a long way from war, slavery, Jim Crow etc. And we will continue onward.

It would be hilarious if people started flooding the hotline their own personal Area 51 style “alien encounter” stories.

After decades of seeing images of masked Taliban fighters on TV in the years following 9/11, it’s kinda crazy how DHS doesn’t get how bad this looks to Americans.

Yeah, the "where was his ID" stuff is complete nonsense. He's the ranking member on the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Safety. Oh, and while he was telling them over an over "I'm a senator," he was wearing a shirt that literally had "US Senate" monogrammed on the front.
