You should never cave into bullies.

Yes as an off air recording and I think on a Pebble Mill recording. The ending was reconstructed for VHS and DVD (and Blu Ray probably)

The new Iraq ... a country is invaded to oust an unpopular (to the US administration anyway)leader, leaving years of instability and natural resources plundered.

Are you using online genealogy databases? I found them to be a big help as you can correlate and combine other people's trees (that's how I found out about my dad's cousin and his Merrick work).

Yes, our friendship didn't last long!

I think my research got a bit stymied about my family tree as it was getting harder to trace people before the 1500s. But then, online research was more difficult twenty years ago.

I also found a cousin via a Joseph Merrick group on Facebook. Then I found out that she was a rabid anti-vaxxer.

I spent ages constructing a family tree a long time ago and managed to get to the 15th or 16th century by combining trees. I don't think my parents were happy (I found a big family secret but didn't let on that I'd discovered it).

My dad's cousin found him via a long trawl through family trees over 20 years ago. Joseph is a distant relative via the Potterton family in Leicester.

My only notable ancestor was Joseph Merrick, the Elephant Man.

Considering some of the embarrassing answers that were broadcast I don't see why it would have been omitted from the final edition...?

Probably - I'd love to speak to them but when they were contacted in 1986 they said they didn't want to speak about it. A great shame.

The 1987 booklet said that the matter was mentioned in "The News of the World" some years previously. I have yet to find the article but then there are some years I haven't yet been through. It's embarrassing enough going through the grotty rag in the British Library, quickly skimming past page 3!

Theres far worse than that! The old sugar beet factory (since demolished) in town was haunted by a worker who was smothered when they accidentally filled a silo with him in it!

According to legend the screams of the woman as she jumped to her death have also been heard.

I read today that the New York Times had the opportunity to scupper Trump in 2015 with Epstein revelations but chose not to.
