The slopes also drive warming near the surface, and ramp up the production of snow via a phenomenon called the seeder-feeder effect.

Hi-res really helps here, and it's all we've got to go on because there are no observations of rainfall in this region - this really should change!

The LA #wildfires are being driven by a combo of human, weather & #climate factors: a perfect storm that's turbocharging the impacts of an already devastating blaze.
#ClimateChange increases the size & severity of fires, meaning more people will be exposed to these terrifying extremes in future.
