They’ve got all the secret data. OBR analysis, Man Utd medical records…they’re holding us all in a state of perpetual blackmail, ready to wield it against any one of us in the event we won’t undertake some ceremonial function in their town intended to slightly increase local retailers’ footfall.

Like just ban them advertising during football full stop.

Actually tbf to Neuer (and it’s happened to Raya before too) - when you play that sweeper keeper role that assertively in a side that is assured in possession, occasionally you do get caught out of your goal when you lose possession, and on this occasion back-pedalling wouldn’t have helped either.

I sometimes wonder if I’m overreaching but it does feel like there’s an unpleasant element to the way he talks about some of England’s Black players in the media and the way it plays into broader negative rhetoric about them.

I kind of feel it’s also a bit off that a 19yo is being put under pressure like that by the national team manager after breaking into the side so ridiculously early.

Calafiori is a better football player than he is good looking, which is saying something.

I heard him talking about it on the Know Your Enemy podcast a few months back, if it’s half as engaging a read as he is a speaker, it should be excellent.

Manuel Neuer made two terrible decisions tonight. The second was trying to outsprint Gabriel Martinelli, the first was that moustache.

Tbf I think you’d have been much better with Bergvall and Sarr in midfield on Sunday. Bit more zip than Bentacur and Palhinha.

I said on Sunday he was giving me big Emery at Arsenal vibes and this isn’t exactly contradicting that…

From memory, the programme sent around vans well before the protests had started, encouraging drivers to get in touch if they were upset about fuel duty going up; then a few weeks later they acted shocked on the show by the apparently natural groundswell of anger when the protests occurred.

Also teaching on this a few years ago and watching old footage of Tonight with Trevor McDonald from the time, and it’s also really quite something the way furore was whipped up by the media at the time.

Mind you I work in New Cross and it literally features in the title of one of my favourite songs, so.

I guess to raise money but also that as they remain cheaper than fuel duty there remains an incentive to use them over petrol cars and to use public transport over even electric cars (reducing congestion).

There are members of the McQueen family whose tragic death on a Monday was foretold the previous Friday, and yet folk are out here losing their heads cos they found out about income tax thresholds remaining frozen before the Chancellor said it on the telly.
