this is why i have said multiple time that streaming financially benefits artists as much as piracy does. because unless millions of people stream one song it won't even pay rent. meanwhile it takes a couple thousand bandcamp or itunes or qobuz song purchases to pay for rent. hundreds for an album

yes, buying someone's project on bandcamp will benefit them more than you streaming it casually throughout the remainder of your life can. yes, artist payouts are really that bad. yes, that's why concert ticket and merch prices have ballooned so much these past 15 years
