A6 it’s important to bear in mind that a lot of extra “help” can sometimes be heaped on those least able to take time to engage with it. And a decolonised approach which invites open discussion of culturally privileged norms rather than assuming them or expecting uncritical adoption. #LTHEChat

A5 being online adds another layer. I have found it useful to use past students to speak to current students and speak of their experiences and the academic services that they have used. #THEchat

A5 #LTHEchat I wish there was some magic to this but just making sure that key people in different roles see others as those they ought to collaborate with & make an effort to find common ground. A practical thing we did was inviting ppl in various functions to present to (academic) course directors

A4 There is some integration through the University partners modules, in terms of showing students what an AI example to an assessment looks like and them critically examining it. Plus AI and Business through the topics covered. Not enough, it moves so fast! #LTHEChat

Don't get me started on this - I have and still have conversations with people in the sector about progression from #LD #EdTech roles 🙄🤷‍♀️. Most go to #EdDev, the HoD, PVC, if lucky. The cuts to these units, criminal. #LTHEChat

A2 #LTHEchat We have an assignment where the assessed part “discussion to camera” with a draft unmarked research proposal that is submitted for feedback. This allows students to submit their first piece of written work in a risk free environment they can reflect improve for their final assignment.

A3 #LTHEchat this is a really tough one & like so much that comes up in these chats it needs to be mediated by the fact it's competing with lots of other good things for staff time & attention. Definitely prioritise 1st year UG/1st term PG where putting in the effort stands to yield the most
