Congestion charge approved by Oxfordshire County Council Cabinet today 🙌
Hoping queues like this one on the Marston Ferry Road at evening rush hour will be a thing of the past 🚘❌
Congratulations to all who worked so tirelessly to get this approved 👏 news.oxfordshire.gov.uk/oxford-tempo...

Our prime minister shouldn't be taking sides. What about those who can't drive and take public transport, walk or cycle? Is he not on their side?
Why is Labour
- cutting fuel duty
- funding large road infrastructure
- increasing the cost of public transport
- not investing in cycling?
😬👎

Why the Barton Park crossing of Oxford's A40 northern bypass fails people on bikes. A thought-provoking article by @dannyyee.bsky.social on what's gone wrong. If the County Council is serious about #VisionZero the only solution is slowing & delaying motor traffic✋ wanderingdanny.com/oxford/2025/...

Consultation out on the Oxford Greenways project 🚲🚶‍♀️👩‍🦽 A plan for cycling and walking routes connecting nearby towns, villages & future development sites with Oxford. Good to see as a result of consultation that the DfT is not taking forward the proposals to change the legislation on how e-bikes are classified 🚲⚡ Illegal motor bikes (mostly ridden by couriers delivering food) will remain illegal. www.gov.uk/government/c...

New cycle parking stands in Obervatory St. On road, good stands (though would have preferred Bilton to Sheffield) and good spacing. Thanks @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social and Oxfordshire County Council👏🚲👏🚲

It is -6 degrees here in #Oxford this morning. Take a lot of care if out on your bike.
And for interest the University of Oxford Dept of Physics has a weather station with live data. See here👇

Someone has returned to tarmac over the central yellow cross inside the yellow circle. All very mysterious 🤔

Hurray 🥳👏🎉 The @oxfordclarion.bsky.social reports on x that the Gasworks Pipe Bridge, over the Thames between Grandpont and St. Ebbes, has re-opened after three years, ahead of the Christmas Eve deadline.

#PeakChristmasShopping. Cars on Abingdon Road & Thames Street at a standstill waiting to get into the Westgate car park. Meanwhile the cycle racks at the back of Westgate on Speedwell Street are empty. An indication of how much they are in the wrong place 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️?

The blancmange! I was hoping that 4 years into the latest #OxfordshireCountyCouncil administration we would no longer be seeing active travel schemes turning into a sticky puddle. But there are still too many poor bits of cycling infrastructure being implemented 😰
