That's definitely one of my favourite John Gardner Bond continuation novels!

He also mentions Paul Daniels in Confessor (1995) too. John Gardner was himself once a stage magician for the American Red Cross Entertainment Division during World War II.

Reading the fifth John Gardner Bond book “Nobody Lives Forever” and apart from the assassination attempt by mutated vampire bat (I kid you not 🤣) it has a very Dalton/Craig feel - for the first time in the Gardner run I’m not “seeing” Sir Rog as #JamesBond

It's great to have a Bond related birthday. I myself have the same birthday as Sir Roger Moore (albeit a different year) which is nice. He's one of my favourite Bond actors.
