I forgot Billy Joel - sheezus anyone from Long Island or CT seems required by law to act as if he's a combo of Shakespeare and Mozart.

trust me, we have our own overwrought things - Scientology, RHCP, Cal Worthington - but not the cultural power (interest?) to project it onto other time zones.

One of the things that growing up on the West Coast gives you a much, much smaller footprint for these kind of cultural figures that seem(ed) central to East Coasters. Not zero, but way less brainspace for people like Allen, Springsteen, Howard Stern, pre-POTUS Trump, endless bagel/pizzas convos.

Both have exercised Extreme Hairline Measures and as time goes on find themselves more comfortable on the right, despite pasts filled with alleged leftiness.

Only one of them is *already* getting money from KSA.

Local cops and sheriffs that have been doing this forever were answerable only to local (i.e. terrible) courts. This is why ICE kidnappers are so focused on hiding their identities - they know federal prosecutions can be in jurisdictions less evil than the interior of their own hollowed out souls.

Most commercials are aimed at youths - because they don't yet have a brand for their toothpaste/car/etc. This kind of BS is targeting the young who don't have adult memories of 2001 and the jingoistic aftermath.

It's BS and lies, but the ones old enough to know better aren't "catchable" anyway.

Key to this is having a dog that will provide the crumb removal service while NOT also swallowing/chewing/dampening/hiding all of the toys, socks and crayons that the child also disseminates around the house.

(and also not cutting out the middle man by stealing food from the grip of tiny fingers)

All teams have a mix of good and bad luck - wrongfully disallowed goal versus Chelsea and OG by Leeds - but it feels like we/Silva have had a run of 'bad luck' re substitutions just landing like a wet fart this season.
December 7, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Is this the rare case where Silva should *not* have made substitutions because our attack was working but he did and it messed us up?

Except maybe getting JKA in for Raul?

Why does Kendrick look fine and Matt & Trey look like they just got arrested for something?

The "Jewish Liberia" theory makes a lot of sense, but there's also ...

Everyone needs to remember that American (largely Christian) right-wingers "love Israel" in the same that someone wanting to eat smores "loves firewood."

Yes, but this is only if the person is a Yank. If they have the Queen on their money, I've found I still need to say 'American football' if I wish to indicate NFL-ish things.
December 4, 2025 at 1:24 PM
I used to 'code switch' and use "football" when interacting with someone from UK, but now I just use "soccer" 24/7 - it illuminates the people online that I can ignore bc their brains are mush.

Oddly on trips I've made to UK, I have hit em with the "SOCK-errr" in person and nobody cares.

I imagine he isn't fully aware of how unpopular he is becoming. I bet he still thinks "These polls are partisan BS, regular folks love me! I can convince them to let me XYZ."

Trump is a low info, Fox-soaked old guy. He knows not from TN07.

But no barista in history has ever rattled off a list of suggestions like that. Watch the video again - he's suggesting that the mere presence of other drinks on a printed menu may *feel* like a forced list - but it ain't - it's just choices. Why are my choices a threat to anyone? Human nature.

Maybe it's a 'glass half full' thing from me, but these didn't look like our typical defensive problems. More like we were defending okay and they did some great passing moves we couldn't stop.
