Where does this lead? The TL;DR of it all? I want my family to interact with people not algorithms. I want to diminish the power of these monopolies, even if by mere thousandths of a cent. I want a sane society. To this end, I've broken a lot of the conveniences we've been afforded over the years, introducing a bit of intentional friction to these processes and opted to pay for services I've gotten for free my whole life.

And I've gone so far as to write down a list of how to disengage, of how to reassert control. Lets start digging into that list.
