I'm in NYC for work this week
Had a good time at a work event & it hit me that it's been awhile since I've been truly able to relax at such events... or anywhere. It was nice, hope it's a sign of progress, not just a one-off.

I wasn't going to say anything but a few days ago I opened Godot.
I blocked out a single level for a one scene jam style game.
Haven't made a character controller or anything else but... I opened Godot.
gamedev but no "real" coding.

I've seen the “geeky cruises” out there but I dunno if that'd be fun solo. But then, what would?

My OLDEST son has me back playing @pokemongo-eng.bsky.social. Must admit it's much deeper now
Trainer battles ftw. Now there's a reason to have teams of multiple types & strengths
But used some Fast TMs & The new move only applied to gyms and & raids. Not trainer battles.
⁉️Yuck.

Today I reminded myself that the player's experience is the most important thing
I had what felt like a neat idea for #HighwayNoir - different parts of the room light up to show what you are about to do instead of buttons. But it just isn't consistent or intuitive, especially with keys/D pad :(

I love Godot, and this is wonderful to see.
I sometimes wish unity wasn't so evil so I could check it out... But knowing I wouldn't want to use it to release something, it's just not worth it.

I love Godot, and this is wonderful to see.
I sometimes wish unity wasn't so evil so I could check it out... But knowing I wouldn't want to use it to release something, it's just not worth it.
