And, in turn, albeit conversely, can a city be said to have been/being responsible - at least providing the tools and inspiration - for writing the writer?

Can we ever truly 'know and understand' the places we write about (and sometimes for), even with the accumulated knowledge built up over time? Would we want to? That cities are places of change, dynamism, is grist to the writer's mill.

Wrote a tiny bit more today, in-between second year tutorials (and during the odd no show - tsk!). A chapter of the PhD is slowly coming into view. Consider a sigh of relief breathed.
