It's just a commonplace now that right-wingers do assassination attempts on Democrats. But most of them will probably capitulate and continue to punch left (since that's safe).

Caused by an explosion, and there were children trapped inside. This country has become engulfed in pure evil.

Hate to break it to people, but there's no way to "unsubscribe" our way to healthcare, housing, and living wages...

The way they just changed the caduceus into a spear and money bag into a head and went, "Mercury? Nah, this is Perseus!"

Full disclosure: I didn't read the whole book, just a free preview. But judging from the Table of Contents, I don't think I missed much...

Miles' treatment of "Pagan" as a religious movement is superficial and perfunctory. He eagerly moves on to ranting about Liberalism in general, almost forgetting to even connect the topics.

"Paganism" in his world is just The Devil — the vague, underlying cause of "everything Miles thinks is bad."

He copy-pastes some blurbs about different Pagan denominations, does some Libs-of-TikTok style coverage of a couple Pagan / Satanic influencers, and then just inexplicably conflates that with the existence of all "Wokeness" and "the Left," as if Liberalism wouldn't exist w/o neo-paganism.

I took a peek, and it is disappointing. It's full of incoherent clichés like this:

“Abortion, gender reassignment surgery, and gain-of-function research are offered as sacraments to a modern pantheon made up of deities like Gaia and Isis.”

I have stopped recommending Bluesky altogether by now. Most users here are americans addicted to american politics. The bsky team constantly fucks up: promotes genAI, moderation issues, supporting transphobes, supporting a certain demographic that is not present here, enforc rules selectively…

It pulls together good research I haven't seen before and will have to dig into. Lots of food for thought about syncretism, being more specific about where particular cults were established and why, and the enduring multicultural influences on local customs.
