Lunchtime LP Joey DeFrancesco Plays Sinatra His Way was recorded in 1998 by RVG. It features Houston Person, Melvin Sparks, and Byron Landham. Joey didn't know how to make a bad record, and this is a solid one from the late, great master of the B3 and it's a joy listening to it. #jazzsky

Lunchtime LP: Journey In Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane and featuring Pharoah Sanders was recorded on this date in 1970. This is the album that made me love Alice Coltrane, both on harp and piano. These are some long modal grooves blending Indian instrumentation with jazz. #JazzSky #Jazz

One of my favorite albums, Inventions And Dimensions by Herbie Hancock with Paul Chambers, Willie Bobo and Osvaldo "Chihuahua" Martinez. There's nothing to not like about this album. It has great Latin rhythms and Herbie's minimalist, modal explorations on keyboards and it's just a wonderful groove.
