Yeah, I was talking abt this with friends that superhero media is kinda inherently at odds with any kind of social justice because of both its inherent cult of individualism and its emphasis on maintaining the status quo

I don't think any amount of "batman says trans people are valid! captain america is a supporter of racial justice!" will ever wash away the kinda inherently fascistic premise all superheroes work under. There's a reason they're a big thing in america specificly.

sorry but not being a yankee makes me incapable of recognizing fuckin captain america as anything other than a symbol of america's immense ego and imperial ambitions or something. To an extent I think the whole premise of super heroes is like that even though they desperately try to go against it
