We also finished piloting a school-bus-only street at the King Elementary School. By reducing congestion near the school, we explored opportunities to make arrival and dismissal smoother and safer.

Over the weekend, we hosted a block party to collect feedback about school commutes!

This month, our teams piloted Transit Signal Priority (TSP) for school buses. This AI-supported tech can safely hold a green light or shorten a red light for a vehicle, meaning students spend less time in traffic!

This gives students, parents, and teachers more time for what matters most.

As a finalist in the @bloombergdotorg.bsky.social Mayors Challenge, we’re thrilled to be testing #innovative ways to improve the school transportation experience. 🏫

With more than 20,000 students riding school buses in #Boston each day, maximizing time spent in the classroom can make a difference.
