What good timing! I have always been peak cringe, 0% cool. And hell yes, I’m all about good governance and real democracy! #NoKings #VotingRights #ListenToBlackWomen #PatriarchyAndWhiteSupremacyAreIntertwined #CynicismLeadsNowhere #OverlyOvertlyErnest
After 2024, pundits brushed off the Resistance as cringe. I submit: Yes, it was. And cringe is good. Cringe, in fact, will save democracy.
Resistance Is Cringe
But it’s also effective.

On that note, France has a FPTP system which does force smaller parties and factions to aggregate in the kind of joint lists and alliances that were promoted here; but is busily demonstrating that a polarised three-block electorate can make governance near-impossible regardless of electoral system

We actually count on it! However, that does not in any way undercut the message: do not fund their regime. Force the GOP back to the table to continue governance. Democrats have LABOR support to keep the shutdown extended until Trump can be removed from office. It just needs to be communicated.

Really top notch governance to have a military vanity parade during a government shutdown while Fed employees can't make their house payments or feed their kids. Fuck every member of this administration and fuck Congress and SCOTUS even harder for not doing their fucking jobs and stopping this shit.
BREAKING 🚨 🚨 🚨

A part of the 5 Freeway will be shut down for an event at Camp Pendleton being attended by Vice President JD Vance on Saturday, despite reports earlier this week indicating it wouldn’t be closed.

Here are the verdicts from our review of #UNGA80 and Global Goals Week:
1️⃣ Conflict → signals, not safety.
2️⃣ Financing → ambition, not liquidity.
3️⃣ Reform → alive, not decided.
4️⃣ Digital governance → built, not governed.

Did UNGA 2025 and Global Goals Week Meet Our Expectations?
In September, we asked whether the global community would deliver more than speeches at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80)…

Staying at my in-laws affords me an opportunity to read the Wall Street Journal, and attempt to understand what the 40% of Americans who like DJT think (note: they hate Trump, but are in finance, hence WSJ).

Author is a Hoover Fellow (of course), but RW media is not receptive to reality.

Not a great sign for good governance. None of the military branches are on this list, so that seems like a positive.
We did it, people.

When the Court abandoned tiered scrutiny in Bruen and demanded that gun regulations match the Nation's historical tradition, it turned constitutional litigation into an antiquarian contest.

"Yeah. Democracy tends to be the best form of governance... although, could there be something better than it?

Also, all this is assuming we are talking about a normal world, without other external or internal forces at play. Because we are both in a multiverse, you wonder if they'll operate on a
+ the populace doesn't even TRY to choose their government, a self-appointed 'ruling class' will choose for them. And said autocracy, whose members will be out of touch with their subjects, will rule blindly at best and tyrannically at worst."

The crux of the issue is that the British King is head of state in NI. He should give governance back to the Irish. Ireland should be united 🇮🇪

“what some say they see as increasing authoritarian governance” are words for the history books. Journalism is dead under billionaire rule. It’s factually true & obvious that the Trump/Vance Admin is an authoritarian one. Do WAPO writers have no brains? No journalism degrees?

“what some say they see as”

Even when the “increasingly authoritarian governance” is right out in the open for you to observe yourselves, you guys still can’t just say it.

You do know that if you “look out the window to see if it’s raining” you can report that it’s raining, right?
