I love the living and physical world around us. That's why I've chosen the name for the tree of life.

It took me three reads to get it right, some of the alternative reads are discomforting and worthy of a Data & Lore Meme.

For all the folks out there that are snarking on Rama, remember good old white folks of Pawnee, Indiana put Sarah Nelson Quindle out on an iceberg for showing her elbows. So “Hush” on Mamdani imposing Chaka Khan law.

Maybe we could reinstate the old lines and reactivate other rail banked lines to create a great system. The line that runs from Newark to Patterson could use a new purpose. And the light rail could still be extended to Watssesing Station. A line down Irvington Avenue to Milburn might be great.

But some of the light rail systems seem to be loose at their ends. The reason? Ghost Railroads! The West Orange Branch and the Essex Fells lines provided connections at the ends. Notice how useful the system is becoming to move not only into Midtown, but all around New Jersey.

If you look carefully, you notice that most of the light rail systems interacted with a heavy rail at either end. This was intentional, this allowed you to zip to a station, then take the light rail to your destination. Here's the former light rail and heavy heavies.

But the light rail system was once more extensive with multiple lines entering the subway to get through downtown traffic. If you ever crawled down McCarter Highway, you'll understand. Notice how the Bloomfield line went all the way to Caldwell. Wow.

I've been fiddling with maps for a project on the Newark Subway, what once was, and what could be. The first photo is the current system in Dark Blue (Classic) and Light Blue (New Wave).

Does anyone want to tell him the bad news about cats? I love our little cuddly Steubentigers but they turn into stone cold killers when a small creatures blunders into our house. Look at the teeth-ies on our little Queen Bee who acts like Regina George.
