Lindsey Halligan’s law license is in serious jeopardy, looking to join a long list of disbarred and disciplined Trump attorneys.

The court issues a scathing ruling today in the Comey case. Judge William Fitzpatrick notes, among other things, that Lindsey Halligan made two false statements of the law when responding to questions by grand jurors. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Let’s be real: if Schumer steps down or is replaced as leader, it’s not going to be with your Senate favorite. It’s going to be Amy Klobuchar. Why? Because she has seniority and she’s consistently the best at herding cats, which is the job of congressional leader.
This is going to be very nuanced and very divisive. I hope you will do me the courtesy of reading the whole thing and digesting it before commenting.

Okay?

Good, here goes:

I think many people in our party misunderstand what a congressional leader is.

Idk if the deal was right but I know a hell of a lot of people are adamant the Democrats are somehow to blame for the harm Republicans already caused months ago because this country gave Republicans a trifecta & despite the fact Republicans could’ve ended the suffering at any time they wanted.

Democrats held out for healthcare as Republicans *already killed enhanced subsidies* months ago & a small group of Dems didnt feel their constituents could keep holding out the way you were able to. When all of them voted for healthcare repeatedly as no Republicans did during or before the shutdown.

Subsidies were revoked by the GOP budget & when this happens again in a few months you won’t be able to be starved by Republicans as a negotiating tactic, & like they could’ve this time they’ll be able to end the shutdown any time they want if they just the filibuster as they have a trifecta.

Can we please stop the diet Republican framing that any Dem who voted for the CR voted against healthcare when the Republican budget is what did that & every one of the Democrats who “caved” repeatedly also voted for the Democratic-proposed C.R. which covered it. The 1 that no Republicans voted for.

I’ma stay on this tho…
I still think calling folks ”cowards“ from a place of full belly, getting the paycheck you worked for, and/or being employed while letting the creators of this eugenics by proxy hell we’re in- scott free is weird energy…

It’s also weird as AF to say voting to feed babies is “disappointing” …

The truth. We have a long way to go and not a lot of room to maneuver.
Spoiler: if you’re blaming Democrats for “losing” the shutdown or “caving” you don’t even understand the fight we’re in let alone how the Senate works. If you’re blaming Schumer specifically, I don’t even know what to say to you.
If Lawrence didn’t exist, we’d have to invent an AI to replace him so people could understand the moment we’re in better.

I've been saying the exact same thing this entire time. They can't bribe their way out of it starting people and children next time and nobody gets it. And they delayed being able to do it until the end of September in 2026 right before the midterms! Political disaster if they try that then!

Unfortunately, far too many Democrats are the kind of people who attack their own teammates in the third inning. It’s our greatest weakness and always has been.

I kid you not: I just saw some "progressive" post that he knew it was Schumer's fault "b/c the Pod Bros said so."

And that's exactly how you know it is NOT Schumer's fault.

PS, "progressives" maybe next time *vote* so you don't have GOP control all 3 branches of government?
If you're mad at "Democrats" because 8 Democratic Senators wanted millions of children fed and for millions of other workers not to be evicted without paychecks than you are at Republicans WHO ARE THE ONES CAUSING ALL THIS PAIN, then you have some real issues with your ability to prioritize.

Even if you think those eight are wrong here -- I do! -- it is not "The Democrats" who did this, it is seven individual Democrats and one independent, not even a quarter of the Senate Democratic Caucus. If you're blaming all Democrats for that then you really just hate Democrats.
