So ... I'm a fifth generation Californian, born and raised in LA, and my grandmother was born in SF in 1899. I've lived in Northern CA now for 36 years--and I love it and would not move back to LA. But once a Dodger fan always a Dodger fan!

Yes. We've done it for decades, and voting by mail is our norm. The upside is that our voting is very secure; the downside is that final tabulations can take weeks. (I'm willing to live with that, btw.)

FYI for those not residing in CA or familiar with CA's counties: the five listed are all largely populated by Spanish-speaking voters: Kern, Riverside, Fresno, Orange, and Los Angeles.

Someone explain to me what authority he has to do this? Jackie Kennedy ordering new china or re-doing parts of the White House is one thing, but destroying a whole wing? Or laying a concrete slab to replace a beautiful rose garden? I hope President Pritzger/Newsom/Buttigieg can reverse things fast.
