I made this today. Didn't have a pie dish so the edges are messy. Followed recipe exactly except used 4 pears as they were small. It's a bit of a fiddle but SO worth it, absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Caramelised onion with goat's cheese and toasted pine nuts. My version of a soup I had in a restaurant in Prague and kept dreaming about. Takes time to caramelise onions but worth it.

I'm voting for Catherine Connolly tomorrow because she is easily the best option on the paper. She is not my ideal candidate, I disagree with her on some things, she has disappointed me on others. But I think she will be a good president and the Aras will be in safe hands.

The expected article about poor unappreciated Maria Steen from the expected source in the Irish Times today. Look, she was allowed to run, she was trounced and eliminated at a preliminary stage. As were many others. She's not some special flower.

It's a mistake to assume that all (any?) states are benevolant and have the safety and privacy of individual citizens as any kind of priority.

Yes, that's the exit from a public road. Yes, that's a no entry sign right there where he couldn't miss it. I watched him stop, take a large package from the back seat of the car and just walk off. I hung around for several minutes, no sign of him. Peak entitlement.
