Ken Burns: “Where do you want to live … in Pottersville or Bedford Falls?”
It will ALWAYS be preferable to live in Bedford Falls (rather than Pottersville).
Is this one of the greatest scenes in movie history?

I think so — that’s why “It’s a Wonderful Life” is my all-time favorite.

Glad i sold this stock years ago.

Boycott now.
During the holiday season, we all want to spend time with our loved ones.

And yet, just two months after buying Walgreens for $10 billion, the private equity firm Sycamore Partners stripped hourly workers of paid vacation, including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Shameful.

A New Year Wish:

That CEOs, oligarchs, billionaires, media owners & influencers, corporate & elected leaders— globally— finally learn this lesson:

Bullies can never be appeased.
The Ellisons want Trump’s support for their hostile takeover of Warner Bros.

But Trump has been unhappy with recent episodes of 60 Minutes — hence the CECOT segment removal.

Business leaders and the press surrendering to Trump is a danger to us all.

A tyrant can't be appeased.

Bluesky has the most thoughtful discussions I’ve seen on the internet.

Bluesky attracts the most intelligent users of any platform.

Real conversations. No "Brain Rot." People actually read. Less rage, more jokes. Better humor.

Every platform has users. Bluesky has thinkers.

Today’s Advent reading:

He has brought down the powerful from their thrones,

And lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

And sent the rich away empty.

As 2025 ends, 74 school shootings have left 31 dead and over 109 injured. Nevada passed SB 156 to create an Office for Gun Violence Prevention, but it was vetoed. Communities deserve safety — we must act now to protect students and families.

Think of your biggest financial risk: it's not your stock portfolio, it's losing your paycheck. That's why unemployment is the single best measure of economic health—when people can't earn a living, everything else in the data is just background noise.

And unemployment is rising.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Reiner was an outspoken critic of Trump. But he leaves behind a rich political legacy that began long before Trump’s political career.

Reiner redefined celebrity political advocacy, not only lending his voice to important causes, but also implementing strategies that brought change.
