Fifty-six years ago today, in what must have been an add on show at the “NewOld Fillmore”, as it’s not listed on the poster for that set of shows. Released as the 2013 Bonus Disc to Dave’s Picks vol. 6 (which had recordings from the 12/20/69 show).

31 years ago today in the Los Angeles Sports Arena, in LA, NOT Atlanta, GA. Night 4 of the run. I was there and remember enjoying the show almost as much as the Branford show in the 16th. One if the few times I got to hear Days Between.

31 years ago, day 3 of 4 at the Sports Arena in LA, not in Atlanta, GA. I was there, but after the “heft” of Branford on night 2 I remember very little of the show but a good Tom Thumb’s in the first set and a big Terrapin in the second.

This is where I was 31 years ago! The LA Sports Arena, enjoying the Grateful Dead with Branford Marsalis sitting in for the whole show. Hearing him on those opening notes, you knew it was gonna be good!
(he skipped the Lucy in the Sky encore).

Thirty-six years ago at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood. The second run of shows there in 1989. The Bird Song from this one appeared on Without A Net. A good Playin’/Crazy Fingers/Uncle John’s/Playin’ Reprise in set 2, and a Mr. Fantasy/Hey Jude.

Fifty-two years ago at Winterland. Part of the Winterland 1973 Box Set. I’ve heard the Dark Star referred to as the best (not just for 1973), but that’s a very subjective thing. Great Mind Left Body Jam out of Dark Star.

Fifty-eight years ago in Los Angeles. Two shows at the Shrine, with Blue Cheer and Buffalo Springfield. I missed 11/10, so I’m following up with both today. The 11/10 show was released as the ‘67 entry in the 30 Trips box set.
