Day 19 on my 2025 Holiday Musical March to New Year’s. After hearing this particular track off of the George Shearing Quintet’s Christmas album, I knew I have it in the collection. The “Take Five” rhythm that George plays throughout drew me in immediately.

This is where I was 31 years ago! The LA Sports Arena, enjoying the Grateful Dead with Branford Marsalis sitting in for the whole show. Hearing him on those opening notes, you knew it was gonna be good!
