Swalwell: You better believe that accountability is coming. Immunity is going to be stripped. And to Kristi Noem, Tom “Cashbag” Homan, Greg Bovino—your asses are going to be in these witness chairs.

Jacob Frey: "I mean, let's call a spade a spade here. I was listening to Kristi Noem speak minutes ago, and it sounded to me like someone that didn't believe a word that they themselves were saying. Let's be straightforward about this: this is not about safety, this is about terrorizing people."

AOC: ICE has less accountability than virtually any law enforcement agency in the U.S., yet they are some of the most well-funded, operating with impunity—and we just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood in the street.

A woman is dead in Minneapolis after ICE agents opened fire.
I don’t need to be a use-of-force expert to say this plainly: she did not need to be shot.
And no fair investigation is coming from the same system that wanted this confrontation in the first place.

They Didn’t Come to Protect Minneapolis. They Came to Provoke It.
A woman is dead after an encounter with ICE agents in Minneapolis, and the rush to justify it tells us everything about where this country is headed — toward provocation, federalized force, and invest

WITNESS: "I just can't let this narrative of self-defense go any further. That’s absolutely not what it was… ICE agents didn’t let anyone help her for 15 minutes, then medics couldn’t get through with their ambulance.”

Veering off for a minute. But it does all remind me of our story. Tonight I was reminded of the minute I knew Jake and I needed to move to Minneapolis from rural MN. June 2020. The murder of George Floyd happened. And there was a huge disconnect amongst what people were saying on the internet. Conflicting words. And I had big feelings. I felt drawn. I packed up our four middle children and drove to George Floyd Square, six hours south of the Canadian border where we lived. I wanted to see for myself. There were thousands of people gathered. It felt so safe. Healing. Important. …and I saw so much collective grief, people helping people, sadness, dancing, sharing… I felt like I found my people. I belonged here. My family needed to be here. I called Jake from the square. “We are moving to the Twin Cities.”He agreed, found a job, and we made an offer on the house in August. Here by the first day of school in Sept. We found the multicultural and diverse living we so desired. Communities reflective of our family. We love it here. Tonight I gathered with thousands again. It was all the same feelings. People reached for my hands as I climbed snow and avoided slipping. This is Minneapolis. The attacks on Minneapolis right now are so cruel. I will use this platform to stand firmly against it all.
