I’m a grandma, a former Special Ed. teacher, and a writer who loves to paint and doodle in words or in color. I’ve always lived in beautiful places surrounded by good people. I’m a possible SPS patient impatiently hoping for a cure.
Emma was born in a Lakota village and lived through the Little Bighorn and wounded knee and still
has relatives at Pine Ridge reservation. Della was a farm girl in very rural northern Illinois.

I grew up with two great grandmothers born in 1875 and two grandfathers born in 1898 so definitely Victorian era and they were all about barnraising and feeding the neighbors kids

In 70’s small town Wyo my family turned on the radio when we heard sirens. The radio sirened too and then said, “ don’t follow the firetrucks, let the firemen do their jobs, here’s the location of the fire” but it wasn’t entertainment. It was a news source giving us a way to help people we knew.

Nice, but I couldn’t forget something I never knew. I’ll have to look for it though. I love that green frog.

Thank you. I didn’t ever know what it was from, it was in a collection of choices we could memorize and recite to earn a poetry badge in brownie scouts when I was about seven.

As a child I learned a poem that began , “ halfway down the stairs is the stair where I sit. there isn’t any other stair quite like it. It isn’t in the nursery. It isn’t in the town. It isn’t really up. And it isn’t really down”

And ended “it isn’t really anywhere, it’s done place else instead.”
