I'd want to see where the disconect in understanding is and I think that would be best done by you restating what you see our argument is because if you're arguing in good faith, there's a break down in communication causing you to not understand what we're saying.

I am talking to you about that but you keep either misunderstanding or ignoring our points. we've already explained what the OP meant by that and why it's true but you keep deflecting or replying to something no one said. before we continue, can you give a brief summary of what op is saying for me?

Once again you are just making up something to respond to instead of replying to my post. I never said anti intellectualism automatically means fascism, I said it's something that fascism uses. You either are struggling with reading comprehension or you're being intentionally obtuse.

It's a pretty common understanding. One of the common patterns of fascist movements is anti intellicuism.

You should read up on fascism because I think you are confusing it or conflating it with something else
Miguel de Unamuno: 'That which the Fascists hate above all else, is intelligence.' — The Socratic Method
That which the Fascists hate above all else, is intelligence. The quote by Miguel de Unamuno, "That which the Fascists hate above all else, is intelligence," captures a profound insight into the na...

Lies are a core part of how fascism operates. Demonizing those that use evidence to make their opinions is core to fascist movements. and this is not about personal belief either. sure a fascist can personally believe in vaccines but the movement is the point.

Except the lie was made up to discount evidence based research and organizations, strengthening fascist movements. Fascism can only thrive when there is a mistrust of facts. Modern fascist rhetoric is as powerful as it is because of distrust of science and the lab rumour played a huge part in that

i've already said that i wasn't saying scientific organizations are infallible. if you can discredit them with the truth do so. if you need to make up something with no evidence in order to do it, that's a bad thing.
December 1, 2025 at 8:02 PM
are you saying that we shouldn't say it's bad to make up a story with the purpose of discrediting someone? i'm not saying their actions are bad cause they disagree with me, I'm saying they're bad because the are doing something bad. If I just made up a story to discredit you that would be bad right?
December 1, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Again you appear to have not read the words I wrote and instead chose to just respond to a completely different thing. I never said scientific institutions are infallible or that being wrong is evil. I said making up a story for the purpose of discrediting these institutions is the problem.
December 1, 2025 at 7:34 PM
It feels like you don't know what logic is...or you just didn't read what I wrote. Being wrong isn't the issue, intentionally moulding a narrative to build distrust in science and research is.

Whether or not there was a lab leak isn't what helps fascism. it's the fact that the evidence points to there not being one so that the most common stance researchers take. The rumor is designed to discredit researchers and make people see enemies where there are none. Fascism spreads by insecurity
