People who don't do art do not seem to understand that the making is the point of it. like leave aside that almost all AI programs have been made through immoral means and that its use is destroying the environment at an even faster rate than most normal industry, I still wouldn't use it for art.

I think this aptly expresses how deeply misunderstood art is by GenAI people. the act of creation is intertwined with our whole being. art is not math: you can’t put it in a calculator and have it solved for you. I would also rather leave the planet than allow a soulless machine to create for me.

I've seen viewer counts bump by 50% when a streamer asked all her lurkers to speak in chat. That means twitch was stealing about a third of her revenue and keeping it for themselves.

How is it legal to agree on a revenue split based on a certain metric and then artificially lower that metric for the person your paying but rake in full profits yourself?

Twitch not counting lurkers towards your view count and thus your percentage of ad revenue but still showing them ads is straight up theft. I'm a very small streamer and I don't care about the cents I'm missing out on but I do care about wage theft and shady business practices.
