And before you go thinking this is just an AHS problem... today the Misercordia was looking no better with almost 90% of it's ED being blocked by admitted in patients who could not be transferred to a bed on the floor.

Meanwhile the govt's plan is to PRIVATIZE care and drive even more HCWs and specialists out of the overflowing hospitals that are barely coping.

Over 100 sick pts, many accompanied by family members, seeking medical attention, and being stranded in a waiting room that was never even designed to hold even 50 pts in it...

They had to spill over into internal waiting rooms and hallways and EMS hold spaces...

There is no possible way to prevent serious morbidity and mortality when ED WRs have 100 people in them... Safe and Timely care just isn't possible with overcrowding like that...

We used to be able to do so much better.

Albertans DESERVE so much better.
