A monthly Discworld podcast covering the Discworld novels. In order.
I can see your point, but I think that Pratchett probably doesn't do it enough for it to stick for me. That scene at the first gig in the Drum does have a great des riptide.

And yes, everyone has different perspectives on books and what clicks for them.

Thank you for listening. I'm glad to see newcomers to Pratchett listening to the series. Then again, this might be the 3rd podcast that I've done that I think you've listened to. So thank you for rhat as well.

The thing with parodies is that when the reader knows the references, then it's an easy shortcut to avoid having to explain everything. But you're a good example of potential issues of approaching it not knowing those references.

Let me know how you find Reaper Man, btw. That is a very English book

You're welcome. Planetfall and especially After Atlas have been stuck in my head for years.

I picked up all of the Split Worlds series today. I know it's not a lot, but I thought I'd try to help a little bit.

Hahaha. Glad that the nWo logo made a difference.

We'd love to have you on board as a listener but if the spoilers get too much then we understand.
There are a few much more spoiler free Discworld podcasts out there: Desert Island Discworld is more interview heavy than us and The Truth Shall Make Ye Fret is super in depth and in order.

We're not the best when it comes to staying spoiler free. Some episodes are better than others: Pyramids, Small Gods, Mort and the Rincewind episodes should be fine. The Witches novels are probably pushing it in terms of spoilers, as we often mention a character before they're introduced.

Thanks. It was very weird to find that many Discworld novels so close to questionable taxidermy and a life size Marilyn Monroe statue (yes, it was THAT Marilyn Monroe scene).
