Reminds me of a BC Assessment taxation shift a few years ago when suddenly forestry lands were lower value and residential properties had to make up the difference. Industrial lobbying win? Who’s lobbying for regular folks!

Herring anchor the Salish Sea food web. 40% of a female herring is roe — the only part consumed by humans. So 20% of the fishery is for humans, the rest is pet food. And, the price fishers get for roe continues to drop as international market interests shift. #biglittlefish
