in the plus side, watching the president of the United States destroy the entire geopolitical order because he didn't get a shiny award has successfully cured all my hangups about subtle character motivation in writing

Bluesky has actually been remarkably successful as an app within a relatively short time frame. Expecting it to have the same metrics as some of the biggest apps in the world is stupid. What really matters is having content that people care about, especially if it travels outside the platform itself

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but constant, chaotic, unfiltered news and social media can overwhelm the mind—flooding your attention, stirring up emotions, and making it hard to think clearly.

It’s okay to step back and be selective about what you let in. Your mental well-being matters.

“Born from Pain”
Some days, there are no words, only grief, shock & a heaviness that sits in the body. Yesterday’s violence in Minneapolis has left many of us reeling. I’m holding space for that sorrow. This piece was created understanding that pain doesn’t disappear simply because we wish it away.

This is the @cubotanicgarden.bsky.social lake, a watercolour drawing done on location 2017. As I can't travel far to sketching locations now I hope to do more drawings there when warmer weather arrives (it's a short walk away!)

This started out on paper a few years ago. I recently added it to a wood panel & continued painting it with encaustic. "Song of Increase", encaustic mixed media, 8x8". Going to drop this off to the Manor Mill gallery tomorrow. I was recently invited to be a represented artist there!

A recent oil on canvas painted in my garden size 61cmX86cm "Two women at a garden table". It was one of my entries to the Cambridge Drawing Society 2024. Needs to be a bit more subtle in its tone I think looking back on it.

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

Everyone has a list of so-called "red flags" when they're dating. And for some, especially younger Americans, different political views is a relationship deal breaker.
