With everything happening, I can’t help but wonder if the Verizon outage is an attempt to slow down release of info. I’ve seen so many horrifying videos out of MN. People have been killed, blinded, forced into unmarked vehicles, and the public is doing an amazing job of real-time documentation.

I’m sad for the kids who will never know the kind of boring childhood we had where politics was a boring, niche topic and our POTUS wasn’t commandeering other countries for personal gain and roving militias weren’t kicking in doors and kidnapping others for funsies. I was just out riding my bike.

Spent the afternoon handing out safety whistles to local shops. IYKYK. Hard to believe we’re actively trying to protect each other from roving bands of deputized ex-cons, but it’s 2026 in the USA. :/

We need that murderer’s name so that he may never know a moment’s peace. They won’t arrest him, but the public can make him wish that they did. I’ve seen people die before, but never shot directly in the face like that.

Vegan caviar is surprisingly decent! I have had a crazy craving for caviar for about a week. This is made of seaweed pearls, but if I didn’t know, it would have fooled me. The texture and flavor are very close.

I know chicken soup is recommended when you’re sick, but it’s miso soup that has really been the hero for me. It settles my stomach, smells pleasant, not too salty, and it seems to go well with all my meals. I’ve started having it in the mornings to help me improve my hydration during recovery.

A favorite discussion topic at my house is trying to puzzle out The Amazing Digital Circus and drawing parallels to I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. One of us will pop up and throw an argument as to who is an NPC, might abstract, if they are souls uploaded by accident, etc.

The past two weeks have been a blur. I came down with Mystery Virus (possibly adenovirus) and then got popped with bronchitis. I’m on the steroid/inhaler/potent cough syrup trinity. I feel better, but still not good. This was not the overdue vacation I wanted, but probably needed.

My little Whovian made us a Tardis tree. There are stars for space travel, Tardis blue, dinosaurs for time travel (and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship), the weeping angel, and her K-9 is festive too. We like these mini trees because our cats knock over full sized trees at least once a season.
