It may seem like I am stating the obvious, but it bears repeating in this day and age of AI:

if you want to hire senior devs, you need to hire juniors devs.

A pot of Lapsang Souchong on a frigid grey day hits just perfect. Every. Time.

My everlasting pet peeves: people using terms without defining them in tutorials/ documentation. You can't start digging into a complex subject, throw in things to digest, along with not knowing what you aree talking about. Too many tech tutorials do this. Tsk tsk tsk.

What can I say, Shrek tastes real good.

Yesterday, while at my favorite café, the girl next to me had the juiciest notebook. I forced myself x times to stop staring at her creepily. She had a holy grail of notebooks. My kryptonite. I nearly asked the brand, but didn't for then I would be owning many more notebooks of (now 3) fav brands.

It's been a really long time that I think that Canada needs to have its own strong tech hub (I won't be using the term to designate an area in Northern California because nobody needs to feel like the Great Value version of something). With the current political landscape, it's due more than ever.

“If Canada cannot govern the code that governs Canadians, then we are no longer a sovereign democracy. We will be tenants in Trump’s regime.”

Margaret Atwood and others have called on Canada to protect its sovereignty. But is Mark Carney’s minister listening?
Canada must protect its digital borders.

It is a dedusting my LaTeX skills kind of a night. Oh the memories!

Added: refining scary numbers! This animation of numbers swaying while idling, scaling up upon cursor proximity, locking scaled up status when clicked on, new ones gently appearing upon refining forced me to take a careful, paranoid(?) look at ev. render so we don't disrupt this ecosystem of numbers

In a sea of badly written to not so well written technical articles, one person really stood out for me. So well explained concepts, generous in the writing and pleasing visually. Then, I found out the writer is from Montréal. So very cool.

Every time AI (this time, it was Gemini) suggests to put the mouse position in state, my brain violently rejects it. Who wants to re-render the screen every time the user moves the mouse?? What the hell!???? #react

What's something you learned about yourself after you finished school?

Personally, I discovered that I need and love learning. Having been in school practically all my life when I finished, I never felt that way. Once done though, this trait was allowed to exist and breath. I did not expect that.

Current status: bull whipping code. You know, "the devil is in the detail" can mean in the tiny, minute, pesky glitchy bugs. Whip!!! Whip!!!

Installing a new fresh, fast(er) appropriate distro after a bout with a clunky, inefficient, ill-fitted one is a bit like putting on fresh underwear after a real sweaty, swampy day. With a shower in-between, of course. Did I just say that?

The joy that comes with finding the exact (hard to find) keyboard layout (that comes under many names) after installing a new distro is indescribable.

New: scary numbers! When the only cue from the show is: "each category of numbers presents in such an order as to elicit an emotional response in the refiner", I saw creative freedom. In short, a decay function determines the bad data that I animated slightly differently to "elicit an emotion". 😃

Fjällräven is a Swedish brand that sells... a Canada shirt? I did not expect that one! 🇸🇪 🇨🇦

Some call the very generous amount of screws holding this keyboard annoying. I would call this process meditative. 😁
