Nervous system regulation MUST include making housing available, healthy food affordable, elderly care, trauma-informed addiction support, eco support. Yes nervous system regulation is KEY for thriving in life but when your immediate circumstances are not inherently safe— it won’t be enough.

I’ve been trying to up my protein since I’m strength training (and am post meno). So here is my lunch! 45g protein: black soy bean pasta, w tofu, kale, an array of picked veggies, in a creamy tahini sauce. SO good. #vegan

Also: this may surprise some… but as a vegan, I find the dairy industry incredibly more harmful and horrible than the meat industry. Of course I wish no animal to be abused or exploited… but if I had to choose— ditch the dairy!!!

I sometimes wonder why we can love some animals… and kill/eat others no problem. Some ppl may think this is unfair, or cultural, or idk what. Yes my relationship to my cat is dif than to a wild wolf, or to a chicken or a cow. But each has inherent value and deserves to live.

In my morning yoga class today, I asked ppl to share something yoga has taught them. Across the board ppl shared about how it’s been so important to know that consistency requires a letting go of perfection. Allowing yourself to show up, even for just a little bit if that’s what you’ve got.

Here is your reminder to take care of your health & wellbeing today. I see SO many ppl with chronic pain, and it could be easy to fall into despair. Esp with healthcare being threatened. Yet, our determination to do something, every day, to tend our health is so vital. It’s a seed of hope.

The so-called "Fix Our Forests Act" is a Trojan horse for weakening critical environmental protections while doing little to prevent wildfires. The bill has passed the House and now it heads to the Senate. Time is of the essence - please act.

It is hard to fight for every single issue I care about… so I made a decision many moons ago to simply focus my energy into one or two issues to fight for. I will always choose fighting for the environment (specifically right now the protection of the wolves and fighting for public land)

As a neuro-somatic yoga teacher who works with people that have chronic pain & illness…. And as a long time environmental activist… I firmly believe that we NEED to invest some of our energy into our joy. And limit the ways in which we feel overwhelm. Curious what you think??

Studies show that the death of a single wolf from human-related causes is more likely to result in the dissolution of an entire pack. When wolf pack stability is threatened wolves are more likely to go after non-wild prey. Hunting = livestock depredation! #TeamWolf

Me with my two rescue kittie BBs in my wolf ears. I worry about the future of wolves, and the ecosystem they inhabit. But I lean into their resilience— they have survived so much and always seem to keep going despite how brutally they are trapped, killed and hunted.

One of my favorite parts of “protesting” also is the pure community building that goes in before any protesting. Meeting up with friends at parks to eat snacks and paint signs.

The day I realized I LOVED doing die-ins as a form of protest because I got to lay down and not talk to anyone 🤣🤣🤣

I do realize not all die ins are as safe as the particular one— but it was a moment I realized I may need to rest more.

One thing I vividly remember when I was doing a lot of environmental and social justice work… is how so many ppl would nit pick my ideas and work apart. It’s always easier to critique someone doing something, then to start something of your own. Easy to point fingers then to make change.

Feeling optimistic I might use BlueSky and build something a little different on here. No promises yet ;)
