Kudos to President @cyrilramaphosabsky.bsky.social for publishing G20 Leaders' Declaration, despite US objections, & for strong language on inequality, debt etc. But, with 27 refs to "voluntary" in 30 pages, it doesn't deliver decisive action the world needs

As leaders start arriving in Johannesburg for the #G20 Summit, I am glad that President @cyrilramaphosabsky.bsky.social has put fighting inequality at the heart of the agenda. Being in Joburg is a stark reminder of the inequality crisis facing the world.

If the Government really wants to serve the interests of working people, it should ask those who don't have to work to contribute their fair share rather than taxing those who work but struggling to get by. My thoughts for @theguardian.com

I see this post is, rightly, generating pushback on whether the Government really is green. But it begs the question: what is the *best* thing Starmer's premiership will be remembered for? I suspect finding negatives will be easy but am genuinely curious about positive legacies. Suggestions?
Good to see the Prime Minister staying strong on the green transition and committed to internationalism. My guess is historians will see these as the most positive legacies of Starmer's premiership. And even more likely if the Government goes further, faster!
