In recent days, I have seen many robotics demonstrations where the machines are trained to be aggressive. Why aren't people training these robots to care?

It isn't a bipolar world anymore....to these people Asia (read China) is invisible.
What is Europe’s role in a new world of spheres of influence? Is it a regional power in its own right? Or will it find itself caught between two powers, the U.S. and Russia?

Columnist @rikefranke.bsky.social weighs in:
Europe’s Place in the New ‘Spheres of Influence’ World
For Europe, the Trump administration’s embrace of a world dominated by great powers represents a completely new challenge.

There are often discussion here about work life balance and how US based employees are often having hard times. To these people the Asians are almost invisible.
Most Asian countries have low pay, high workload, and low social security and related benefits.

Sometimes I wonder where this notion that Germans have a 9 to 5 job comes from.

This complacency is enough to sink any ship. I hope these morons get a fitting punishment through the courts.
The attack on an energy plant in Berlin's southwest has been identified as a far-left climate activist group called the "Vulkangruppe". No, not the same nutters that glued themselves to streets to keep people from getting to work and blocked emergency services, these whackjobs are even more extreme.

This year was good on the reading front. Read 12 and listened to the rest. Hoping to continue this streak into the new year.

I am currently listening to the book American Dirt. Two third into the book and I like it so far. I also just happened to read about the controversy surrounding this book. Many of those criticisms appear to be childish.

As a parent of a autistic person, I often get to visit the school where kids with disabilities go to learn academic and life skills. I have always known life is unfair, but how some people have everything stacked against them. Like the couple who have all their three kids going to this school.

I reread Nehru's Tryst with Destiny speech. Naturally, I am biased and I was moved by his words and wisdom. He wasn't too bad for a non-native speaker, I guess.

And made it.
Got into the last round of interview for a special job within the company.
The previous round had about 20 people in the interview panel and they had to vote for candidates. I am surprised that I survived that round, as only three candidates were selected. September will be an interesting month.

It appears to me that for some people the former GDR is a business case, most of them being immigrants or expats (as they may call themselves). I wish these people simply googled the plight of guest workers in the former GDR and stopped romanticizing the past.

There has been some posting here that a Die Linke MP was assaulted by the Police. The sources appear to be sketchy and none of the German mainstream media have covered the same. Is it fake news?
