My last Terek Sandpiper was in 1998 at Stanpit
Marsh just two years after the one at Bowling Green Marsh in 1996. It's about time another one turned up in the South West, preferably in Devon

Weather is still unbelievable Dave. I haven't even worn my fleece for several days. I was just scoping the Sanderling flock on the beach when suddenly they all flushed. I watched a Peregrine make a few attempts to catch one but flew off after failing.

Was it three or fours ago you were both here Dave. Apparently the Arctic Skuas are still seeing off any Golden Eagles that dare fly over their nest.

Sun was still shining at 19.15 so rather than have a blank birding day I went to a known site and watched a male Hen Harrier hunting and then pass prey to a calling female.
