Inside Day 5 of Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials (Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025)
A single shot changed everything. Brad Gushue’s last rock miss ended his Olympic Trials run and produced one of the most emotional scenes of the week, as a gutted Gushue left the ice to a standing ovation in Halifax. With that, the playoff picture is set. On the men’s side, Brad Jacobs finishes 6–1 and goes straight to the final, while McEwen wins a must-have game to grab the last playoff spot, and Dunstone sneaks in after a long night of scoreboard watching. It will be McEwen vs Dunstone in the semifinal, with the winner facing Jacobs in a best-of-three. On the women’s side, Team Homan beats Einarson to lock up first place and a direct ticket to the final. The semifinal is set: Einarson vs hometown favourites Team Black, who clawed back from 0–2 and advanced dramatically on the final draw. There was joy, heartbreak, and a powerful tribute to Colleen Jones woven into it all.
