Working to remove the barriers in our natural and built environment so that as many people as possible can enjoy them. #InclusiveDesign #InclusivePlacemaking
Great to see this finger post sign providing so much information - use of pictograms helps so many different people. Walking and cycling images are averages but you will be able to gauge how long the journey will take you. #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign

In life we need as much information as possible to enable us to make decisions or gain knowledge about a location. Great that this signage has been provided but would be so much better if the viewing area was a flat level surface to enable so many more people easier #access #InclusiveDesign

Bumpers at the end of the parking bays would prevent cars accidentally encroaching in to the path. If 2 cars opposite did this a wheelchair user most probably wouldn’t get through. If there’s no dropped kerb nearby - the person is probably trapped. Not good if they have an appointment #Acessibility

Great info on sign detailing walking routes to the Royal Highland Centre - different colours depicting different entrances. Could be so much better if ‘wheeling’ was added + an estimation of the type of route - fairly level etc / accessible - with dropped kerbs plus an estimated time #Accessibility

Interesting sign and message regarding the priority bay. Great to have such an area with pictograms too but what if the individuals have luggage with them - are they allowed to store in this space or manoeuvre themselves through the crowds to use the luggage racks? #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign

It’s very helpful to have a sign in the lift so people know what floor to get off at. What’s not helpful is the ground floor in the sign is labelled as zero but the lift button is G for ground. #accessibility #InclusiveDesign

Wonder if the designers thought this one through. The need for signs perhaps says no

Great that a lift is there to offer choice but not sure if some people would identify the lift doors. #InclusiveDesign

Hi Bluesky - I am interested in Inclusive Design and Inclusive Placemaking. Looking forward to connecting and following people and organisations to learn more and share good practice. We should be designing out barriers - not building them in!
