Junk enthusiast.
Seems like The Jim Henson company kind of lost the plot with theatrical films after Buddy came out

Hey folks who came up with the tagline for the trailer of The Borrowers...you may want to take another run at it

Judith Hoag deserved an Oscar for the way she plays being genuinely charmed and slightly erotically charged by a barely functioning puppet teenage turtle doing a functional-at-best Sylvester Stallone impression

While we’re all complimenting Paul Dano, we have to admit his raw sexual charisma and anyone who looks like him is a contender for sexiest man alive right?

This is what happens when your two year old has a hyper fixation

The next two issues details Firefall, who has a banger concept. He’s the criminal who went mad with rage and the Dire Wraiths in the government promise to give him the power to protect Earth and kill Rom and they do it by grafting him to the corpse of Rom’s SpaceKnight friend

Props to everyone involved agreeing that it’s fine to acknowledge the ugly Sonic debacle on the Sonic the Hedgehog BluRay

Issue 2 really hammers home the great—very Marvel—central premise. The Dire Wraiths on Earth have been here for decades, so when Rom blasts someone who’s been your friend for years, you think he’s just on a murderous rampage

It’s been probably almost ten years since I last did a full Rom read through after collecting all the singles and I’m gonna keep a running tab of the best parts here

Had a Black Friday miracle of a Pulp Fiction pinball score

I will say...they should still do that final bit in Fast X: Part II if it ever happens.

I'll have to admit...I'm as surprised as anyone that Vin Diesel actually seems to have been right in the creative conflicts that drove Justin Lin off of Fast X.

Reform School Girl—Part of Showtime's Rebel Highway series where notable directors remake Roger Corman films (check out Joe Dante's Runaway Daughters). This sees Jonathan Kaplan doing a strangely sedate women-in-prison remake. LeBlanc is good doing a '50s tough guy but disappears halfway through

Twenty Bucks—What if Pulp Fiction was twee. This interlocked story anthology follows a twenty dollar bill as it passes from hand to hand. One of those "oh shit!" casts where every 30 seconds you point at the screen like Leo. Schwimmer plays a nicely smarmy boyfriend who always has a business pitch

Finally found something to do with all these art cards I never look at in my 4k special editions

Great news! TCM’s in the middle of an Eleanor Powell marathon for the day! If you love tap musicals at all, you’ve GOT to see her dance.

Well, he got the next best thing. He got to be a Marvel Comics character

Leprechaun—Probably the most infamous of the pre-Friends roles, Jennifer Aniston actually comes out surprisingly with her dignity intact. The movie's always worse than you want it to be (Leprechaun 2 is the good one) but you see pretty quickly why she became a star.

The Unborn—Timothée Chalamet's uncle directs this occasionally evocative horror film about the terrors of childbirth. Could stand to be a little more pulpy or a little more in touch with its central metaphor, but a good watch. Kudrow has two lines, but is cast with some of her Groundlings cohort
November 13, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Dance Til Dawn—Matthew Perry barely gets a few lines in, but this is a hugely fun TV movie about prom night with every '80s TV star you can imagine...Alyssa Milano, Christina Applegate, multiple actors from Growing Pains and stealing the movie, Kelsey Grammar and Edie McClurg as overbearing parents
