The quoted post appears blocked to me too, but apparently I’ve never blocked anybody on @bsky.app . Maybe @sarahtaber.bsky.social blocked them and it shows up that way because she quoted it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Legal status doesn’t matter: if you exceed ICE’s melanin threshold, you get snatched. It is ethnic cleansing. There is no other word for it.

The news has shown you video of these often violent detentions. What you don’t see is what happens to these individuals after.

I’ve had a front row seat.

(And let me note that immigration law FAVORS such horrific outcomes. Asylum is very hard to win. Immigration “court” isn’t a real court. It’s a kangaroo court where DHS is judge, jury, and executioner. You have no right to counsel. And the law tilts against non-citizens all conceivable ways.)

There’s two paths ahead of us: one way offers things like high quality, free cradle to college education, free and fast transit, and social housing. The other is crumbling infrastructure and oil wars. I choose the first path and I’ll bet you do, too. But we need to organize a mass movement for it.

People can't recover from addiction if they don't have a home. People can't get a job if they don't have a home. And a focus on getting people to work is misplaced when we know that seniors are one of the fastest growing groups in our homeless population.

The Morillo amendment does a lot more than just address sweeps but that’s become the focus. Let me clear: sweeps will not save our city, and citations will not magically house the thousands of people sleeping on our streets.

Great, if horrifying, video. Will you be posting future episodes here on BlueSky?

I always thought I would subscribe to Dropout for Dimension 20, but it turns out that curiosity about sex research is more compelling.
