What I love about this poster is how hard it plays with sexist sci-fi tropes. (Leia never had a split-skirt sexy-time outfit and Luke never had ripped-shirt abs, but this was the expected imagery of the time.)

Tomorrow, New Plymouth's council meets to debate whether to remove the concrete 'tim-tams' along a stretch of urban state highway that has five schools on it. Pertinent point: many of the new councillors were elected on a platform that promised to rip them out.

I wonder what the other NZME directors think of this? Do they back Grenon in targeting another media company? And if they don't, will they want to distance NZME from his actions by saying so publicly?

We don't say 'coward' often enough. Big men with big guns targeting the softest possible targets: families having fun, people deep in prayer, concert-goers - just those (as you say) going about their day without an inkling that they're being targeted.

Another way to look at it is to think back to what you enjoyed doing when you were seven. That's an age when there's enough independence to, for instance, grab a book to read or take your bike over jumps or harangue your mum to take you to the airport to watch the planes land.

When I was shopping to replace my 1970s sofa and chairs, I couldn't find replacements that would fit into my small living room (1960s bungalows) - they were all either overlong and overstuffed or small, cheap, uncomfortable options.
Finally decided to just reupholster my existing furniture.

The midnight screening of the Fellowship of the Ring. One hour in (Frodo waking at Weathertop), the images suddenly flipped upside-down - the second reel had been connected incorrectly. We were sent home about 2am with two free passes, I was back at 9am to finally watch the film, and somehow...
