This sign here is from Toronto, on a road that is too wide. They needed 2-stage cross for pedestrians because they *just* couldn't stop car traffic long enough for someone to safely cross.

I drew this imaging that world: long runways next to each house, stores with signs aimed for above, and empty parking/runways abound.
That "concept" world sounds horrible...
I wish more places were walkable for all residents, and areas with high foot-traffic had affordable housing and businesses.
