I don't know if you do D&D at all but it's very similar systems

I use habitica which allows me to gamify my tasks to fight monsters and stuff.

Not every class can be a pet project seminar (I really hope I get to teach those seminars someday) but not every class has the same goals. I do think though that there's value in seminaring a big required class a bit. I love letting students pick their final projects. It makes them care more

I think about this as someone who has had these problems. I've only been asked to teach gen eds and that affects the students I've gotten. A lot don't want to be there, and it's hard to help them meet their goals. I have to really contextualize my classroom, and it's not always effective

I've just had surgery and have several times thought how nice it would be to recover without constantly checking for an indication that there's insurance fuckery with the claim. And I have good insurance (by some miracle). Low deductible, low out of pocket maximum, etc. But I can't trust them
