Autumn has come to my studio at the barn. The trees declined to peak at the sane time this year but opted instead for an extended season. First it was mostly green with just a little color; now mostly red and gold but with some patches already growing bare.

A favorite #collage from a few years ago, the one I use on my business cards. This was made entirely from magazine clippings pasted on canvas board. No paint. No other type of paper. Just very careful color selection.

How is the government shut-down not the fault of the the party that controls both the White House and the Congress but that of their opponents?

Spent 2.5 hours delighting in Chanticleer gardens this afternoon. Of all the pleasure gardens I’ve visited, this is the one that struck me most as being the work of someone I’d like to have known.

I didn’t intend to buy art when I went out yesterday afternoon, but somehow that’s how it ended up.

#lavender #bumblebee This bee was feeding at the same blossom for so long that I was afraid he’d OD’d on nectar and died.

Work in progress, nearing completion. I intend to let the black backing show, but I have some color adjustments in mind for the blue/multicolor portion. #collage #paper #artwork #abstract #painterlycollage #nondigital

Fresh from the oven! Finally the weather is cool enough in the evening to contemplate baking. #sourdough thick-crust #pizza with sweet peppers, mushrooms, and olives.

Another collage (from 2016) that I feel the need to revise. At this stage I’ve eliminated the parts that bothered me, but I’m not sure where I want to take it next.

If the market can solve a societal problem, let the market do its thing
If the market can't solve a societal problem, the role of government should be to step in & solve it, market be damned.
Acting like we can't solve a societal problem because it would betray market principles is ridiculous

At the command of the president, red states are sending armed troops to occupy a blue city based on a manufactured crisis, over the objections of that city's leadership and 80 percent of its residents.
If this isn't authoritarianism, I'm not sure what is.

Two of the single greatest advances of our lifetimes are mRNA technology and renewable energy tech and somehow the United States is now virulently against both.

An older collage getting a facelift: new varnish and, as long as I have the varnish off anyway, a little more definition in the section that provides movement. #collage #artwork #abstract #painterlycollage #mixedmedia #worksonpaper #motion

Now showing in an exhibition in Frenchtown, NJ, titled “Create that Tune.” Every work of art is titled after a song. Mine is “Octopus’ Garden” by The Beatles.
