I would be thrilled to know that a #bird nerd here would go for this rare experience in the world of Wisdom the Laysan Albatross. Any brave enough, curious enough & able to understand that a stamina requiring challenge like this is a treasure for life?

How revolting. People of Ontario can be truly ashamed that citizens of the United States will be harassed even more by ICE because an Ontario company's will sell ICE armoured cars.
And our premier says "I love that".

Today is our National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women. It stems from Dec. 6, '89, when a gunman entered Montreal's École Polytechnique & fatally shot 14 young women engineering students.
In my small town, young female students created an art exhibit to protest all #femicide.

Do you feel your 'soul' is at risk of holding itself together these days in the face of #climate chaos, the demise of democracy, the global carnage from #war and lack of progress on achieving #peace in all its needed manifestations?
As is often the case, a #poet gives needed advice - Joseph Fasano.

The words fossil fuels & the word phase-out as a necessity were connected in the same sentence by the UNFCCC COP 30 President. 1st time, 30 years after COP 1 in 1995 .
18 countries (mostly island nations) signed on to speak to the root of #climatechange

2013. Super Typhoon Yolanda killed 6,300 people in the Philippines. It was the fiercest ever recorded.
COP 19 was underway at the same time in Warsaw.
When Yolanda hit the islands, their delegate was at COP 19.
On floor, he wept & begged for action to slow GHGs & #climate chaos.
2025. COP 30 FAIL

Who here can explain to me why the failure of COP 30 to obtain an agreement to cut fossil fuels - the main driver of #climatechange - is NOT trending on Bluesky today?

Iconic words attributed to Chief Seattle in 1854 -- exposed as myth & yet another act of colonialism. Invented by white men to serve their purpose. Justifiable now as admirable beliefs? Not if based on misrepresentation & distortion of Indigenous history.

Remembrance Day, Conderation Square, downtown Ottawa. At left, the unveiling of the National War Memorial in 1939 by King George just before WWII began. Next, mid 1950s after the Korean War & WWll. Then, a vacant space in 1930.
So much conflict & innocent lives lost since then. #Peace where are you?

I had always thought this phrase meant a sort of tearing around with harmless but confused abandon which might be able to discombobulate the status quo.
I learned today that it implies a lawless mob of angry people bent on violence or even murderous acts.
NOT for peaceful disruption. Dang it all!
