It also fails to address the awy marginalized writers are being largely left out of spec purchasing right now altogether. And that for many of us, spec purchasing is not a bridge to a career as a TV writer. Writers rooms are. We need that opening. We need that experience.

And look, I get it. I have many many times been the writer saying "just write" "have your specs ready" "write and write and write" but right now, in the current state of the industry, repeating that insistence over and over to a DROWNING generation of young writers is super unfair.
